What if your gift to memory disorder research ignites new discoveries?
“The Wien Center has been invaluable. The support groups and guest speakers have contributed to my learning experience and my understanding of how I should handle my sister’s illness.”

Ambassadors of the Wien Center for Alzheimer's Disease and Memory Disorders

Established with a generous gift from Marjorie and Leonard Wien in 1986, the Wien Center for Alzheimer’s Disease and Memory Disorders is one of the most comprehensive facilities of its kind in the region today. Each year the center receives more than 300 new patient and 1,200 follow-up visits from individuals seeking its unique array of services: free memory screenings for early diagnosis and treatment; caregiver education and support; treatment options made available through clinical trials and research and much more.

There are nearly a half million Alzheimer’s patients in Florida. Those patients and their families have lost so much: precious memories, human dignity, identity, normal life, laughter, friendship and often hope. At a time when the incidence of Alzheimer’s disease is on the rise, especially in Florida, we ask you to consider a few What ifs...

What if Mount Sinai Medical Center was no longer here to serve you and the community?

What if there was no hope of a viable treatment for Alzheimer’s disease?

What if your gift, together with research grants and other contributions, helps to identify a cure for this mind-shattering and heart-breaking disease?

Make the decision today to donate to South Florida’s largest, private, independent, not-for-profit teaching hospital in support of Great Medicine for you, your family and your community.

In 2005, the highly regarded and much-needed Wien Center joined a statewide partnership and qualified for a grant from the National Institute on Aging to create Florida’s first Alzheimer’s disease Research Center (ADRC).

Become an Ambassador of the Wien Center

What if by becoming an Ambassador you share information and save memories?

The hope for a cure for Alzheimer’s disease is alive and well. As the largest memory disorder clinic participating in the Florida Alzheimer’s Initiative, the Wien Center is leading the charge, fortified by a multidisciplinary team of specialists in diagnostic imaging, psychiatry, neurology, genetics and geriatrics.

The center’s philanthropic supporters take part in a series of informative and social events – talking to experts, learning the latest diagnostic and research findings, and sharing their knowledge within the community – warmly embracing their role as Ambassadors of the Wien Center.

To become an Ambassador requires a $1,000 gift, which may be renewed annually. Part of the Ambassadors, the Emerald Society represents a higher level of support with a pledge of $5,000 payable over a five-year period. Remaining levels of membership include: Sapphire $10,000, Ruby $25,000 and Diamond $50,000.

Special Recognition

Contributions of more than $1,000 are honored on a permanent recognition wall, displayed prominently at the Wien Center. Emerald Society members receive a unique, solid gold butterfly pin adorned with emerald eyes as a lasting emblem of their importance in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease. Information is available on additional gift opportunities.
