Mount Sinai Medical Center Website

What if...the original Founders could see us now?

What if your private goal of philanthropy continues a legacy...and secures
a future of great medicine for you, your family and the community?

What if your commitment helps strengthen the only source of vital health and safety services in Miami Beach, safeguarding the people closest to you in the event of an emergency?
“We needed to see someone – not only the right person, but we needed to see them quickly. The Care Line was an enormous help.”

Michael Lerner, Founder

The Founders

When you become a Founder, you are joining a legacy of giving and helping to secure a future of Great Medicine for yourself, your family and the community.

In preparation for the future, Mount Sinai has completed a master plan that will take us through the next 50 years and ensure that we have the facilities, equipment and intellectual capital needed to support our evolving community. Won’t you help us actualize this plan and continue a wonderful legacy, while realizing your own goals of philanthropy?

At this pivotal time in the history of the Mount Sinai Medical Center Foundation, when your donations are perhaps more important than ever, we ask you to consider a few What ifs...

What if you and your family were not able to count on the Great Medicine of Mount Sinai Medical Center?

What if your support helps our diverse community continue to receive excellent care, regardless of ability to pay?

What if your gift to the community also acted to protect the health of those closest to you?

Make the decision today to donate to South Florida’s largest private, independent, not-for-profit teaching hospital in support of Great Medicine for yourself, your family and your community.

Today there are more than 2,000 Founders and membership often continues from one generation to the next. Founders enjoy special benefits of membership including Concierge Services, priority patient accommodations and a social season of events, such as the Founders Supper Buffets and the annual Founders Ball. In addition, the Founders are recognized throughout the medical facility, given special parking and access to the Care Line, a service developed to respond to members’ urgent medical needs.

Younger members are encouraged to join the Young Founders. Young Founders have the flexibility of moving freely between the Young Presidents Club, Young Founders and Founders groups, maintaining relationships they may have built as Young Presidents, while enjoying the new friendships and exclusive privileges that come with becoming a Founder.

To become a Founder, it is necessary to make a charitable commitment of $50,000 payable over a maximum of 20 years.

As the only hospital in Miami Beach, Mount Sinai serves as the health care infrastructure for the city, its residents and tourists. We take very seriously our responsibility to meet the broad needs of our diverse population and provide a full continuum of services.

Founders' Benefits

“What if membership offered you and your family the comfort of special benefits?”

Concierge Services

If a Founder or immediate family member is admitted as a patient, our Concierge Services staff is available to provide assistance. And, because we consider Founders part of our family, they are not required to pay an upfront deposit for hospital services.

The Care Line

The Care Line is an exclusive service developed to respond to the urgent medical needs of Founders, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Whenever Founders have a hospital-related need, they are encouraged to call the Care Line where specially trained representatives provide assistance, expedite services and guide the Founder through his or her health care experience. This service is especially helpful in an emergency.

During regular business hours, additional Care Line services are available to Founders:

  • Assistance with scheduling physician and diagnostic testing appointments
  • Pre-registration for outpatient services
  • Processing room requests
  • Billing assistance

Founders Membership Card

Each Founder is given a membership card. Presenting the card at the medical center entitles Founders and their immediate family members to receive special services.

Keller Pavilion

When hospitalized, many Founders choose to stay in the Keller Pavilion, located on the eighth floor of the de Hirsch Meyer Tower. With its cherry wood accents, luxurious trimmings and deluxe accommodations, the Keller Pavilion offers private rooms with city and bay views, a gourmet menu and the personalized health care that is Mount Sinai’s hallmark.

Convenient Parking

The Founders Parking Lot, located across the street from the medical staff office pavilion provides convenient access to medical center facilities. Founders also have the option of using complimentary parking in the de Hirsch Meyer Parking & Security Center.

Special Recognition

A member’s name, or that of an individual the member wishes to honor, is inscribed on a plaque and displayed in the hospital. Members also receive an elaborate plaque to display in their home or office.

Supper Buffets

During these gatherings, Founders enjoy an opportunity to relax, socialize, network and learn about the latest developments within the hospital and the Foundation. Supper buffets feature a cocktail reception, an elaborate buffet dinner and dessert, and an educational program.

Founders Ball

The Founders social season culminates with the elaborate and exotically-themed Founders Ball. In celebration of The Founders and with a spotlight on new members, this well-attended event features live entertainment, dinner and dancing.

Become a Founder

It is only due to the generous contributions of our Founders, Grand Founders, Young Founders and our other charitable groups that Mount Sinai will continue its role as a national health care leader. The Founders’ pledges go into an unrestricted fund, which allows the greatest flexibility in responding to the needs of the medical center.

Open to adults up to the age of 50, Young Founders pledge a gift of $50,000. Because their younger age affords them a longer period of time to make annual payments toward their pledge, the Young Founders annual pledge installment is less than the Founders Club payment. Many of our Young Founders began their participation in the Young Presidents Club and their cumulative annual pledge payments are credited toward their Founders pledge.

Grand Founders are those special Founders who have doubled their capacity to make a difference and made it possible for another person to become a Founder.

First Year Free

It is important to us that you know your Founders pledge is applied toward supporting teaching, research and patient care at Mount Sinai. During your first full year of membership, you receive complimentary admittance to all Founders events, with the exception of the ‘Night on the Town’ dinner series. Thereafter, there is a ticket price associated with each gathering.

Make the decision to give back to your community while you safeguard the health of your family by calling us at 305-674-2777 to discuss your membership.
